Prince Charles and Camilla visit Toronto

A number of people from all over the world have been moving to Toronto recently as the city's real estate market continues to boom, but the city welcomed its most high-profile visitors yet when Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles visited several famous landmarks on May 21.

The heir to the throne and the Duchess of Cornwall were welcomed by various politicians from the city for the annual Victoria Day celebrations. Prince Charles is the great-great-great-grandson of Queen Victoria, the namesake for the Canadian holiday. According to the Toronto Star, Charles and Camilla attended a private celebration honoring the city's firefighters and police officers.

The duo arrived in Ashbridge’s Bay aboard an RCMP vessel, where they were greeted by thousands of gathered onlookers. The couple shook hands and greeted Toronto residents as they walked toward the reception. Later, the royals took in the Victoria Day firework celebrations.

On Tuesday, the royals were scheduled to attend a ceremony at Queen's Park, where they would be presented with the Diamond Jubilee medals, commissioned in honor of the Queen's 60th anniversary on the throne. The duo also has planned stops at Ryerson University, Fort York Armoury and other famous sites.

Jiffy Self Storage, a leader in Toronto storage solutions, is currently running a contest on their website for a free iPad 3. Visitors to the site simply need to match a few Canadian landmarks and they'll be entered to win the iPad or one of several other prizes.
