Many newlyweds experiencing ‘bridal remorse’

A new survey indicates that many men and women who used the summer months to get married are experiencing "bridal remorse" – not for getting hitched, but rather for how much they spent on their wedding day.

The survey, commissioned by eBay Canada, found that a considerable number of newlyweds – approximately one in four – said they think they overspent on their wedding and are currently looking for ways to get out of debt.

"Once the wedding is over, many newlyweds are left feeling blue and needing to borrow to pay their bills," said Kimberly Moffit, a psychotherapist and wedding counselor. "Couples want their big day to be special but the pressure to stage an elaborate wedding can be taxing emotionally and financially."

One of the ways some newlyweds are paying off their debt is by selling things they received as wedding gifts, the survey found.

Buyers' remorse is something just about everyone experiences at some point in their lives. But that's rarely the case when individuals choose Jiffy Self Storage for their organizational needs. Being the recipient of the Consumers' Choice Award 15 times is a testament to that.
