CN Tower EdgeWalk breaks world record

Toronto's iconic CN Tower was recently bestowed with a Guinness World Record.

Jack Robinson, chief operating officer for the CN Tower, accepted the award on behalf of the tower, as it's been credited with the title of "Highest External Walk on a Building."

"We are thrilled to bring a close to an extremely successful first season of EdgeWalk in this special way with Guinness World Records," said Robinson. "It has been inspiring to see the enthusiastic response to this new unique urban adventure over the last three months. Exciting new experiences like EdgeWalk provide another reason to add Toronto to everyone's travel list."

In August, the CN Tower opened the EdgeWalk to visitors who dare to walk on the wild side, as it's the world's highest hands-free walk in the world. Visitors who aren't scared of heights are attached to an overhead safety rail, allowing individuals to peer out over the city without fear of falling.

The EdgeWalk measures more than 1,150 feet off the ground.

The gravity-defying experience likely inspires some to consider mountain climbing. Jiffy Self Storage is an ideal outlet climbers can use to store their climbing gear, which can become quite extensive, as they must outfit themselves with ropes, carabiners, helmets, climbing harnesses, quickdraws and climbing shoes.
