One of the most beloved Disney classics will be making its way to Toronto’s Broadway scene this November. The highly anticipated performance will join the city’s history followingÂ some of the corporation’s many hits including the Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, however, Aladdin will be the first Disney Broadway to be shown at the Mirvish.

Earlier this month, The New York Times announced Aladdin will be replacing the long-running Mary Poppins in theaters across North America. The last showing of Poppins will be on March 3 at New York City’s New Amsterdam Theater, however, Aladdin isn’t expected to go live in the United States until the spring of 2014.
Thomas Schumacher, producer and president of Disney Theatrical Productions, told the Toronto Sun he is looking forward to the musical premiering in Toronto. If he had three wishes for the how he’d like it to go, he said he wishes for â€œbeautiful romance, great comedy and spectacular production values.
“Isn’t that what everybody wants from a musical?â€ he asked.
