Owner of ‘Ikea Monkey’ fights to regain custody

The owner of one of North America’s most well-known animals of 2012 is waiting to hear the result of a lawsuit she filed toward the end of the year. According to the Toronto Sun, the Canadian resident is suing the farm she adopted her former pet monkey Darwin from.

Most pet owners across the world like to treat their furry friends with as much respect and care as possible. However, it can get difficult to find places to store toys and other items people buy for their pets. If someone lives in a smaller apartment or home and would like to store extra items in a facility, renting a Toronto storage unit is a worthwhile choice.

After the animal allegedly attacked her while she was changing his diaper, the owner brought it to a trainer’s attention, who asked her to sign a waiver that would send Darwin over to animal control officials. The owner now wants the monkey back, however, she was told she might not get him back.

The internet was abuzz with talk of Darwin last December after he was found wandering around a Toronto Ikea wearing a fur coat. When law enforcement officials found Darwin, they said he seemed somewhat stressed out, although he was tame. It is believed he was locked in a cage inside his owner’s car but somehow managed to free himself before entering the store. Although his owner contended the reason for him being taken away from her was due to the contract she signed, a judge has ruled it is because Darwin is an illegal animal to own as a pet in Toronto.

Jiffy offers businesses plenty of options for Toronto storage, whether one needs to store filing cabinets or office supplies. What’s more, the company is currently holding a contest for a new iPad 3, which is a device that just about every business person could use to help improve productivity.
