The A&E series "Storage Wars" has kicked off a wave of people who are interested in bidding on unused storage lockers. There's always something exciting about buying a large amount of mysterious items, and the show has demonstrated that it can pay off in a big way if someone finds a particularly valuable object.
Fans of the show know the bidders typically crowd around each storage locker as the auctioneer opens the door to give them a glimpse inside. The live bidding can be exciting and forms some of the dramatic backbone of the television series. Now, those interested in self storage in Canada will have their own chance to buy up storage units, as the website YouBidLocal has added online bidding for storage lockers.
The site mainly handles estate sales, but will now allow bidding on storage units in an eBay-like format. The site will show pictures of what's inside and the bidding will commence much like a live auction.
"It really is a different solution than the live auction process was," YouBidLocal founder Barry Gordon told Canada.com. "We wanted to clarify it and make something that was easy for people to see and understand."
