While there are a variety of considerations to weigh when deciding which storage company to choose to house one's belongings, a significant factor should be the security system it uses. All too often, burglaries take place at facilities that could have been prevented had the owners used a more sophisticated lockdown procedure.
One such incident happened last week in the U.S. According to a local Arkansas newspaper, The Log Cabin Democrat, a storage unit facility manager arrived to work and found that seven of the units had been burglarized.
As one might suspect, expensive items were stolen from the units, including a 32-inch Emerson flat-screen television and a stereo system furnished with a turntable and mixer, the paper reported.
Had the owners used a different security system, it's more than likely that these burglaries could have been prevented.
At Jiffy Self Storage, access to all interior storage are computer controlled by central key pad entry, preventing unauthorized access. Seven days a week, storage unit tenants can access their spaces between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.
This may be inconvenient for some, but we believe it's a policy that best ensures the protection of our customers' valuables.
