Patti Smith to perform in Toronto this March

Patti Smith, the legendary punk musician, poet and visual artist recently announced she will be performing two nights at Toronto’s Art Gallery of Ontario. According to CTV News, the “punk pioneer” will grace the city on March 7 for two separate evening performances.

The punk musician is known for producing a large collection of various works of art. Some of her fans may not have enough room to showcase all of her pieces, so they may want to rent out a Toronto storage space.

Smith recently released her film Live at Montreux 2005. The documentary captured her at the famous Swiss festival, which Smith’s guitarist Lenny Kaye told radio station WFJA captured the band at a “nice moment in time.” According to the gallery’s director and CEO Matthew Teitelbaum, he and his team are excited to host Smith in the spring.

“We’re delighted that Patti will be spending some time with our members and visitors,” he said. “Camera Solo is a uniquely intimate collection of works, and Patti is a true original. This exhibition exemplifies the AGO’s commitment to bringing Torontonians the very best in contemporary art.”
