A Chicago self storage business is giving back to the community by hosting an event that will combine a blood drive with the city's annual Merchant Day, which is designed to highlight small businesses in the area.
The self storage facility will be hosting a blood drive that is expected to draw interest from across the community. The blood drive will be held on Merchant Day, so the facility is also letting its tenants who use the facility for small business storage open up their containers and show their wares to the public.
"We wanted to include Merchant Day because we have a few tenants that have small businesses and wanted to help them out and also generate new business," said co-owner Yecy Morquecho, who runs the facility with Mario Alequin. "Mario and I decided to combine the two because we see it as a triple benefit: maybe you're coming specifically to shop, or to give blood, but hopefully, you'll do both."
Small businesses that could use more space for workspace or document storage may want to look into affordable self storage in Toronto or any other city to give their businesses a leg up.
