Toronto's budget committee recently approved a property tax hike that is slightly above what they originally had planned. Increases are expected to be up 2 percent, raising an extra $1.15 million than the initial hike accounted for, the Toronto Star reported.
The extra money will be used for grants to community service agencies, local arts organizations, the Toronto Botanical Gardens, lawn bowling clubs and student nutrition.
Homeowners in the Toronto area should consider using self storage in the area when buying a property. As prices continue to increase, self storage units provide a convenient money saving option to help a move.
“If, at the end of the day, council wants to blow $5 million, $10 million, $20 million, $50 million, I can tell you, guaranteed, they won’t have me any more as budget chair,” Councillor Mike Del Grande, told the news source.
