Weekly earnings rose in October

A recent report by Statistics Canada indicated that the average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees increased to $909 in October, up 0.9 percent from September and up 2.8 percent from October 2011.

The report also showed that the average hourly work week increased to 33.2 hours, up from 33 hours on a year-over-year comparison.

Small business owners in Toronto may want to consider moving business operations to self storage units as a means of reducing costs. A number of small business owners are deciding to forgo traditional office space for a much more reasonably priced self storage unit.

Statistics Canada did show that retail sales increased for the fourth consecutive month, up 0.7 percent in October 2012 from October 2011, encouraging growth in the booming entrepreneurial sector throughout Canada.
