Beach Fairway to close

The Beach Fairway Golf Range will close its doors on October 8 after 13 years of business, the Toronto Star reported.

Those needing a place to store their golf gear and other sports equipment in the Toronto area should look into self storage.

“It’s a sad end to a great business,” Kim Holman, who started the range with her husband, Brian Jacobsen, 51, in 1999, told the Toronto Star. “It’s the end of an era.”

Beach Fairway has paid nearly $100,000 each year for rent and property taxes but Build Toronto, the city's real estate arm, will not renew their their lease.

Holman added that the prices for land are so high that it is highly unlikely another green grass golf green will ever survive in Toronto's core. It was only one of two driving ranges south of Highway 401,

Self storage can be a smart way to hang on to valuable items without taking up room in a house or apartment. For Toronto storage solutions, there's no better than Jiffy Self Storage. Those interested in self storage should check out the affordable rates on Jiffy's website, where they can also enter to win a free iPad 3.
