A Toronto-based cancer research facility recently received the largest donation in Canada’s history. According to the Toronto Star, the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre was given a $50 million donation from breast cancer survivor Emmanuelle Gattuso and husband Allan Slaight. Dr. Benjamin Neel, director of research at the center, said the money will help build cancer research teams from experts across the globe.
While most people store their extra money in banks, others might spend their extra funds on items for their home. However, not everyone has room to keep all of their items in their home. In this case, it is a smart idea to purchase a Toronto storage unit.
The cancer program at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is the largest of its kind in the entire country. According to the University Health Network’s website, there are more cancer doctors and specialists than any other oncology centerin the country, which is why it is one of the most recognized facilities in the world. This donation will be distributed over 10 years, and is expected to improve the staff and personalized cancer research programs the facility offers. Gattuso, who was treated at the center, said the program is what will help cancer research in the future.
“We believe that personalized cancer medicine will revolutionize the way cancer patients are treated, and their outcome,” she told the news source.
