Table hockey inventor looks back on the years

In 1932, Toronto native Donald Munro, invented something that would change the way games are viewed for the rest of time. Unable to purchase gifts for his children during the holidays, Munro decided to build a table hockey platform. Four years later, he received a patent from the United States, which is what helped his business grow.

Game lovers across the world hold onto their favorite ones. However, the boxes can sometimes take up too much space and can clutter a home. If this is the case, consumers should look into purchasing a self storage space to store their items.

Since Munro’s invention, people have grown a strong attachment to table hockey as a sport, and there have been many associations formed to recognize it as a hobby. This past year, Toronto’s STIGA Table Hockey League was formed. Each Wednesday night, the group gathers to play about 8-9 games per week.

The love the resident shares certainly reflects the impact Munro has had as well as the effect Toronto has made on the world.
