Storage suggestions for new renters

When people rent out a storage unit, many individuals find that the space is filled up quickly because they have so many things they want to put away. As a result, this often forces individuals to buy a second storage closet.

While this may be necessary at times, with a few space conservation tips – and some suggestions of what not to include – renters can make the most out of their storage space.

For instance, one way is to stack items on top of other items, making sure that the heaviest items are on the bottom and the lightest on top. This can help to maximize a space by 20 percent or more.

Electronics are often stored away when families no longer use them. But instead of storing, it may be better to throw them away or give them to someone else who may need them. The advancement of technology renders the chances they'll be used again by the owner minimal.

Finally, if the cost of storing something exceeds the value of the good, give the item away or throw it out.
