Most Toronto residents say they are prepared for disaster

A recent Forum Research poll indicated that 59 percent of Toronto residents believe they are well prepared for a natural or man-made disaster, like a hurricane, flood or fire.

Those in the Toronto area should consider self storage as a valuable way to prepare for such events. Storage containers are available to keep valuables and critical documents secure.

“While it appears Torontonians are well-prepared for a catastrophe like Hurricane Sandy, what this reveals is that there are significant minorities who are woefully unprepared for a disaster,” said Forum Research President Lorne Bozinoff.

The poll did show that individuals with lower incomes are more likely to not be prepared. Of Toronto residents with an income under $20,000, only 34 percent said they were well prepared for a disaster.

Self storage can be a smart way to hang on to valuable items without taking up room in a house or apartment. For Toronto storage solutions, there's no better than Jiffy Self Storage.
