When motorists turn to their storage units to preserve their automobiles, it's reasonable to suspect that they're being held there because the models are truly unusual or unique. But a recent survey on the popularity of some of Canada's most insured vehicles may suggest otherwise.
According to auto insurance comparison website Kanetix.ca, the most popular car brands that are insured are veterans of the roadway, such as Honda, Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet and Pontiac. But the survey also revealed what brands were less sought after, most of them being costly models such as the Maserati, Rolls Royce, Bentley and Aston Martin.
Since these vehicles are expensive, many people may assume there are many insurance policies taken out on them. However, the results suggests otherwise.
However, the study points out that just because there aren't many policies taken out for luxury models doesn't mean that they're unpopular. It may be because the models are hard to find in North American markets.
Storage units are often used to house motorists' vehicles, and recent reports suggest they may soon be filled with automobiles. Industry analysts expect fewer cars will be on Canadian roadways this summer.
