A recent poll by Leger Marketing showed insights into the way small Canadian businesses owners felt about their businesses. The survey showed that 85 percent of Canadian small business owners felt optimistic about the future success of their business and many of them planned to expand within the next three years.
In addition, the survey showed that 43 percent of small business owners planned to expand their business in the next three years, 59 percent of which were in the start up phase, while 39 percent of more established businesses were planning to expand.
Small businessmen on a tighter budget should consider a self storage unit for their initial phase rather than spending extra money on office space.
"It's encouraging to see so many Canadian small business owners sharing a high-level of optimism about the future success of their enterprise," said Jon Hountalas, CIBC's executive vice president of business banking. "With small and medium size businesses playing such an important role in Canada's overall economic future, this optimism bodes well for Canada's future growth."
The poll did show that cash flow was ranked as the greatest obstacle for small businesses who had undergone an expansion.
