Canadian Paralympic basketball team takes gold

Patrick Anderson led the the Canadian wheelchair basketball team to a gold at the Paralympic Games over the weekend. Anderson scored 34 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in the 64-58 victory over Australia.

The Canadian victory is a good reminder to any sporting goods store owners in the Toronto area, with a need for extra space, that they should consider Toronto affordable self storage for their benefit.

The Canadians avenged themselves, after losing the gold in 2008 to the Australians. They went undefeated throughout the tournament, going 8-0. Anderson was the leading scorer of the tournament, contributing 200 points throughout.

"It feels like the first medal I've ever won somehow," Anderson told the Canadian Press. "I'm not sure exactly why just yet. We were challenged by a really great team and meeting that challenge was awesome."

Australia's team veteran Brad Ness, 37, still hasn't decided if this was his last Paralympics, but said that Anderson had a hot hand in the game and was hitting from everywhere.

Canada had previously won gold in Paralympic basketball in 2000 and 2004, adding another in 2012. Anderson has played in four Games since he was 17. He also has not decided if this will be his last Paralympic Games.
