Most Canadians will work after retirement

While retirement is often viewed as vacation time, a considerable number of Ontarians won't be spending their post-career years lounging around.

According to a poll conducted by Harris/Decima on behalf of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, 70 percent of Ontarians said they plan on working after they retire from their main jobs.

"Our CIBC Poll shows that Ontarians don't view retirement as the end of their working lives," said Christina Kramer, executive vice president of retail distribution and channel strategy for CIBC.

While the overwhelming majority of Ontarians will continue to work after leaving their main jobs, how much time they plan on devoting to work differed. For instance, 45 percent said they will only work part-time, while 9 percent said they plan on working full-time. Eight percent said they hope to start a new business venture.

To whatever extent Ontarians plan on working when they leave their careers for good, Jiffy Self Storage can help them succeed. Jiffy Home Office allows entrepreneurs the place they need to get their business up and running with minimal overhead costs.
