Moving to Canada from overseas

Canada is a very welcoming country when it comes to immigrants, and there are hundreds of thousands of people who move to Canada every year. There are a few things those seeking to relocate to Canada should keep in mind before doing so.

For starters, nearly everybody can visit Canada for six months on a temporary visa. Much of Canadian immigration is tied to whether or not the person in question has a job there. So those seeking to move to Canada permanently may first want to visit the country on a visa and look for employment, if they don't have a job in Canada already.

A good way to save money during this time is to rent a small apartment and put any excess items into a self storage facility. There are many solutions for affordable self storage in Toronto and other major Canadian cities where jobs are available.

That being said, the immigration system for Canada is not tied completely to jobs. Even if you don't have a job lined up, it's still possible to get approved for immigration, depending on a variety of factors. Canada actually uses a point system for determining who qualifies for permanent immigration.

Jiffy Self Storage, a leader in Toronto storage solutions, is currently running a contest on their website for a free iPad 3. Visitors to the site simply need to match a few Canadian landmarks and they'll be entered to win the iPad or one of several other prizes.
