As moving from a single-family home to condominium is a common trend these days in Canada, those doing so should take a few tips to help them save on space.
Organize
Those moving into a smaller residence will want to go through and organize their belongings. Pack things you will need in the new home into boxes that are labeled with the room in which they are going to ensure you know where everything is and to help you unpack later on. Take your time when packing and clearly label boxes that you or movers should be extra careful with.
Store
As you are organizing your belongs, set certain boxes aside that you plan to put in self storage. Since a condo has less room than a single-family home, storage units provide a cost-effective way to still give you access to your belongings without taking up room in your new place.
Donate
If you decide you don't want certain items, don't ditch them, donate them. Not only will this give you the satisfaction that someone else can enjoy your stuff, but you will be saving room in your new place.
