Community organization helps Toronto residents

The United Way of Toronto, a charity working to advance the common good and create opportunities for a better life for community members, recently raised over $116 million through a citywide  fundraiser. According to the Globe and Mail, about $20 million of the donations came from corporations, while the rest came from individual donations. The money will be put toward helping the city’s less fortunate residents.

If people don’t have enough money to donate to good causes such as the United Way of Toronto but would still like to help those in need, they can take a look through their homes or Toronto storage units to see if there is anything they think could be given to anyone else.

The source reported that the campaign was launched last September in an effort to help get less fortunate residents back on their feet. The organization’s website said that once someone donates any money, it gets funneled into the Community Fund, which “helps in the short term by meeting immediate needs – helping individuals when they need it most – and in the long term by addressing the root causes of social problems through a systematic approach that works to change whole communities.”

Jiffy offers businesses plenty of options for Toronto storage, whether one needs to store filing cabinets or office supplies. What’s more, the company is currently holding a contest for a new iPad 3, which is a device that just about every business person could use to help improve productivity.
