tiff Troonto 2013

It was really one of the best years ever for TIFF. So many stars came up to Toronto to be part of the festival.

But behind the scenes are networks of support staff, workers, film producers, directors, script writers – anyone and everyone – in and outside of Toronto, working to make the deals for these new movies and passing “hush, hush” secret scripts for next year’s and years’ following. All of these things happen while all the public’s events are happening.

Our Toronto TIFF Film Festival has become so big that it is one of the World’s Top 3 Events for promoting films.

At Jiffy Self Storage we are very proud of the boost that TIFF gives to the Toronto economy. So its just not film people or film industry that benefits. It’s everyone in Toronto that benefits from this huge undertaking such as hotels, food suppliers, waiters, tourist operators, overtime civil servants, police, private security – you name it, they benefit. We congratulate everyone at TIFF that makes this world class festival one of the largest of its kind anywhere.

In fact, Jiffy Self-Storage provides storage services already to many in the industry. Currently we are storing movie costumes, bound scripts, financial records, props, POPs (point of purchase displays), print material and marketing collateral.

One of the items that we also store associated with TIFF are trade show displays, such as folding aluminium structures used with back drops, displays, marketing incentive pieces, just to name a few.

Many people that frequent Toronto for trade shows and for TIFF even only one time per year find that it is cheaper and easier than shipping these types of materials from their local warehouse or as far away as New York, Hollywood California, Las Vegas, Chicago and Miami. Customs is supposed to streamline the brokerage and shipping process but I cannot tell you how many times people we rent to got their displays and collateral days late. Our clients have found that often when displays come up from US or beyond that sometimes critical parts go missing and panic takes place when assembling products for the big show.

It easier to store close to the City where the show takes place and you don’t have to worry about Peter robbing Paul’s stuff cause Paul needed to borrow just one small critical part for the time being.

To encourage more TIFF support and networking staff to store at Jiffy, we are giving a discount coupon to all TIFF support staff, workers and exhibitors that want to safely store their stuff in a secure, climate controlled environment. Just click here for your discount coupon.

And yes, the $798 million dollars that was the amount mentioned as the boost to Toronto’s economy (that came from Toronto’s Globe and Mail). So even trickles come down to us guys and yes, we appreciate the business that we receive from TIFF and all involved in the Toronto Film Industry.

Jiffy Self-Storage is ecstatic about the support the public at large provides and the success of this years TIFF 2013 festival. We congratulate TIFF and look forward to doing more secure storage business in Toronto with TIFF in 2014.1A old new high res sq logo

Great Toronto GTA Jiffy Famous Landmark Contest was a huge 2011 success. Over the year many thousands of contestants had fun playing the contest. Many people wrote back to say that they enjoyed the contest and asked when we will do another. Well here’s the good news. We have just launched a new contest for 2012. The contest grand prize is an Apple iPad. Second prize is a Dell Netbook. The early bird draw that takes place on April 30, 2012, is the world’s most popular eReader. To access the Toronto self storage contest, click here to win a prize. Everyone that plays, also wins a free coupon worth $25.00.

Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti was kind enough to draw the grand prize winners. Mamolitti is Councillor in Ward 7 York West. Ward 7 is home to about 50,000 people and is 20 sq kilometers in size. Grand prize winner was Jose Platero, of Toronto. Jose won an iPad. Second prize winner was Larry Hough of Toronto. Larry won a Dell computer.

The early bird draw was drawn by Sandra Farina, Executive Director of Emery Village BIA. Emery Village BIA is Toronto’s largest BIA that runs from Steeles Avenue to Wilson Avenue and generally includes all businesses just east of Highway 400 and businesses west of High 400.

The shape of Emery Village BIA can be described somewhat as a boot the shape of Italy that goes up from the heel, but in this case to a swollen knee. Winner of the early bird Kindle eReader was  Emily Chow from Toronto.

Don’t forget to try you luck in the latest 2012 Storage Landmark Contest. There may be storage wars in Toronto, but at Jiffy Self Storage, we like to offer Toronto storage users and their friends more storage value for free.

Almost before our eyes the year 2009 is vanishing and we will be starting a brand new year. I know many clients and acquaintances are also asking themselves how the year has gone by so quickly.  This year was a trying year for almost every business but as a self storage business in Toronto we survived quite handily.

In spite of continued bad news about the economy last year, in 2009 we initiated many new upgrades to enhance our Toronto self storage services, like new security  systems, additional storage units, new heating and ventilation systems, extra coverage for client inquiries and more smoother and streamlined operations to make GTA mini storage easier to book and we simplified our Jiffy Toronto Self Storage move-in process as well.

In fact, Jiffy Self Storage in Toronto is ending 2009 with the same high occupancy as 2008 despite the recession, proving that people looking for moving and storage in Toronto still appreciate excellent value and honest storage services at our Toronto storage facility. Except for Jiffy Mini Storage services, most other self storage facilities in Toronto have had lackluster year and most Toronto storage facilities suffered their worst year since the recession in the early 1990s.

Jiffy Self Storage wants to thank all our clients, including our Toronto GTA residential storage clients, business storage services and office file document storage clients, outdoor storage customers including car vehicle parking and truck parking customers, that continued to have trust and confidence in us to store their stuff with us. Unlike other companies in Moving and Storage, we did not take any shortcuts to save money or reduce quality in our storage and parking services and our highly ranked storage reputation helped us fill our Toronto Storage facility as if it were just any other year. You, our clients did not let us down and we as a Toronto Self Storage Service continued to provide our customers with the same great mini storage service that they have become used to.

At this time, Jiffy Self Storage wishes our managers and staff; our customers, friends, acquaintances, business tenants and suppliers a safe holiday season and we look forward with them to a healthy and prosperous New Year in 2010.

Get Seasonal Storage Specials As 2009 Winds Down https://www.jiffystorage.com/blog/promotions/seasonal-special-as-the-year-winds-down/ https://www.jiffystorage.com/blog/promotions/seasonal-special-as-the-year-winds-down/#respond Thu, 01 Oct 2009 12:26:18 +0000 https://www.jiffystorage.com/blog/?p=40 We recognize that there is going to be a slow down in personal storage this time of year. To encourage new business we reduce storage costs so that storage pricing will be more affordable.

At this time of year, most people are settled in for the year and start thinking about gift giving as the year starts to wind down.

Jiffy Self Storage recognizes that there is going to be a slow down in personal storage services; so with the annual seasonal slow down, we are always thinking of ways to give something back to our new renters to encourage off season storage rentals. From now until the end of the year, new renters get 3 month’s storage for the price of 2 month’s storage. So if you are running out of space, or need a small unit for storing Christmas and other seasonal gifts, get yourself a small personal storage unit such as a 5ft x 5ft.

Are you tight for space and have no space to store summer tire rims and other seasonal items? Reserve one of our smaller units and clear out stuff instead of tripping over clutter.
