CIBC report: Canada’s corporations in great shape

A new report by the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce find that Canada's corporate business sector is very healthy, claiming the country's corporations are at the strongest in nearly 25 years.

The report says that Corporate Canada is "fit as a fiddle," which bodes well for the country's economy. The Globe and Mail reports that the CIBC's index is made up of various financial metrics, such as debt-to-equity ratios, profit margins and returns on capital.

The report's findings are in line with other good news from Canada's business sector. A recent Forbes article named Canada the Best Country for Business in the world, citing its strong economy, high quality of living and generous taxation structure. The analytic firm KPMG also recently released a report that identified many cities in Canada as offering more affordable business costs than the United States.
