Toronto businesses celebrate Earth Hour

Small businesses in the Toronto area recently went dark, as the Entertainment District powers down during World Wildlife Fund's annual Earth Hour. The several businesses and landmarks that planned to participate in Earth Hour includes Luma, Benihana, EPIC and Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The CN Tower also participated and turn off its exterior lights, lower interior lighting and reduce elevator use.

Considering many restaurants powered down their facilities also, some may have benefited from renting a cooled Toronto storage space for the amount of time they power down their buildings to make sure all of their products are still fresh.

Millions of other residents are planning to turn their lights off around the world in more than 150 countries. The annual event raises awareness for climate change.
