Toronto fire highlights importance of self storage

A two-alarm erupted on November 12 inside a third floor apartment on Queen Street. A 30-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being severely burned in the blaze.

Toronto Fire district chief Dan Sell told the Toronto Star that a tenant from the building rescued the burn victim and brought him to the entrance of the building, while two others escaped the fire unharmed.
"Preliminary investigation indicated it was overloaded electrical wiring that caused heavy charring in one corner of the room, and the fire then spread to the rest of the room, including person’s bed,” Sell told the news source.
The fire may have have caused $150,000 in damage.
