Self Storage industry heads to Nova Scotia

The self storage industry continues to thrive despite economic hardships throughout much of the world. Most recently, the need for more storage solutions has risen in Nova Scotia, The Chronicle Herald reports.

All throughout Canada, people are looking for new ways to rid their homes of excess furniture and clutter and keep them somewhere safe. People living in Nova Scotia are no different and the recent purchase of new properties for just this purpose is exciting to everyone, according to the source.

"We're behind pretty drastically and there hasn't been a premium product available for consumers," Ian Rankin, the property manager at one of the new sites, told the publication.

Although people in Atlantic Canada are anxious to have a reliable place to keep their valuables, it's important that these greenhorns know what to look for in a facility and the importance of getting the right renters insurance.

Allan Barkin, owner of Jiffy Self Storage in Toronto, recently told Global Toronto that having the right insurance is crucial to protecting owners should an emergency or an accident occur that involved their items. Barkin suggest renters get insurance up front that covers theft, fire and damages.
